Open Call: Youth Exchange in Freudenstadt, Germany

Always connected, but sometimes disconnected from ourselves and from each other? “What Moves Us When We Unplug?” is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange that invites young people to slow down, reconnect with their creativity and explore healthier ways of balancing online and offline life. It takes place in Freudenstadt, in Germany’s Black Forest, from 29 November to 7 December 2026.

The exchange brings together 40 young people from Germany, Croatia, Italy, Estonia and Serbia. Through art, storytelling, theatre, outdoor challenges, intercultural evenings and reflection sessions, participants will discover new ways to express themselves, build genuine connections and turn their ideas into positive community impact.

What will you gain?

  • A better understanding of your digital habits
  • New ways to express yourself through creativity and teamwork
  • Practical tools for balancing online and offline life
  • New friends from different countries
  • Skills in communication, collaboration and problem-solving

Who can apply?

Young people from the five partner countries. No previous Erasmus+ experience is needed, only openness, curiosity and motivation. Young people with fewer opportunities are especially encouraged to apply. If you are not a citizen of the country you apply to represent, you need a valid residence permit for that country.

Costs

Accommodation at the DJH Youth Hostel Freudenstadt, meals and all programme activities are fully covered by Erasmus+. Travel costs are reimbursed after the project according to Erasmus+ rules, up to 309 € for participants from Croatia, Italy and Estonia and 395 € for participants from Serbia. Participants need their own health insurance for the stay in Germany.

Travel tips, reimbursement rules and what to bring are in the infopack.
