First Job and CV Support Workshop

Young people recently took part in our First Job and CV Support Workshop focused on practical job application skills, confidence-building, and preparation for entering the world of work.

The workshop was created for young people who are starting to look for part-time jobs, internships, apprenticeships, or their first regular work experience. Many participants arrived with questions about how to structure a CV, what employers expect in a simple application, and how to present themselves clearly even when they have limited formal work experience. The session offered a supportive environment where these questions could be addressed step by step.

The first part of the workshop focused on CV writing. Participants reviewed the basic structure of a clear and effective CV, discussed how to describe school experience, volunteering, language skills, and personal strengths, and received guidance on how to avoid common mistakes. The second part of the session looked at simple job applications, including how to write a short introduction, how to respond to entry-level opportunities, and how to prepare basic documents in a professional format.

The workshop also included a practical segment on interview preparation. Participants talked about common interview questions, body language, punctuality, and the importance of communicating clearly and honestly. Short role-play exercises gave young people the chance to practice introducing themselves, speaking about their interests, and answering simple questions in a low-pressure setting.

What made the session especially valuable was its practical and encouraging approach. Rather than treating employment support as something formal or intimidating, the workshop focused on helping young people take manageable first steps. Participants were able to ask direct questions, receive feedback on their documents, and leave with a clearer idea of how to approach future opportunities.

By offering this workshop in Heusenstamm, EUAktivisten created a useful local space where young people could build confidence, strengthen essential skills, and feel better prepared for the next stage of their education or employment journey.
