Topic: Digital youth work, digital skills and competencies, digital content, technologies, and practices

Action type: Small-scale partnership in the field of youth

Countries covered: Germany, Sweden, North Macedonia and Serbia

Summary

The project’s overall goal is to enhance the quality and practices of organizations by increasing their capacity in digital skills, knowledge, and competencies. This will support their youth work goals with digital media and technology, involving young people in all stages from design to evaluation.

Specific objectives:

  • Develop youth workers’ digital and media skills through targeted training “How to create podcast”, held in March (01.03 – 07.03) in Serbia
  • Create opportunities for young people to develop critical, ethical and creative thinking on youth issues by empowering them to improve youth work using digital tools, through educational and practical local activities focused on podcast creation and recording
  • Strengthen NGOs’ capacity to meet the current needs of young people by integrating technology and digital tools into everyday youth work

Results:

  • Train 16 youth workers and organization members in podcast creation, leading to local workshops and a series of podcasts.
  • Produce the podcast series “Youth Squad” with 20 episodes covering four topics: human rights, gender equality, active participation and Inclusion and diversity, involving 120 young workshop participants.

By advocating for the proactive use of digital media in youth work, the project promotes innovative digital tools, informs NGOs about free and open-source digital creativity tools and strengthens the skills and competencies of youth workers.
