Summary

The “We Are Ambassadors” project is designed to inspire and empower young people to become advocates for sustainability, environmental protection, and green skills. By promoting the STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through a non-formal education framework and linking it with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12 and 13, the project strengthens youth workers’ capacities while fostering innovation and creativity in addressing climate change.

A key aim of the project is to build stronger connections between local authorities, educational institutions, NGOs, and the youth sector, ensuring young people are not just participants but also leaders in shaping sustainable communities.

Activities

The project combined international mobility, local workshops, and study visits to provide participants with a rich, hands-on learning experience.

  • Green Jobs Career Guidance in Berlin (Germany):
This activity gathered 12 young participants from Germany, Türkiye, Serbia, and Estonia. Through immersive workshops, participants gained knowledge and skills to guide youth toward environmentally conscious career paths. Sessions focused on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), arts-based methods, and the emotional dimension of climate change.

Highlights included a study visit to the Euref Campus in Berlin, where participants witnessed innovative green technologies and eco-friendly initiatives. Campaigning workshops helped participants design impactful sustainability campaigns and explore models of project-based learning in climate education.

  • Creative Non-Formal Learning Activities:
Across the project, participants engaged in training, study visits, and local workshops using creative methods such as writing, drama, infographics, comic strips, and photography. These activities encouraged critical thinking, fostered cultural exchange, and gave young people tools to raise awareness on environmental issues in their local contexts.

Impact

The project provided young people and youth workers with the opportunity to:

  • Strengthen green skills and increase awareness of sustainable development.

  • Gain experience in STEAM-based education and innovative approaches to climate action.

  • Improve language and communication skills in international environments.

  • Foster intercultural dialogue and networking between educators, youth workers, and young activists.

  • Develop practical campaigns and initiatives to inspire local communities to act against climate change.

Through its interdisciplinary approach, “We Are Ambassadors” equipped participants not only with knowledge but also with the confidence to act as multipliers in their communities. The project continues to motivate young people across Europe to pursue sustainable lifestyles, careers, and activism, shaping a generation committed to a greener future.
